Join the Friends of the Art Park Players for the annual “Puttin’ on the Ritz” mixer on Thursday, April 5. The doors will open at 6:30 and the event will begin at 7:00 p.m.
The event will include a musical revue, a fashion show and silent/live auctions, all of which will benefit the Friends of the Art Park Players Scholarship and Internship Fund.
“Our 2018 ‘Puttin’ on the Ritz’ event is themed ‘That 70’s Show’, and we’re going to have lots of fun while raising support for a very important cause,” said Susan Mele, Theatre Supervisor. “Emcees Tim Culp and Brock Bihm will take us through a great program including comedy, a music revue featuring your favorite music from the 70s which will showcase several of our City leaders, a fashion show with volunteers who are very active in the Deer Park community, and a whole lot more.
“We will also be auctioning off an Hakeem Olajuwon (Former Houston Rockets) Autographed Basketball, Charlie Villanueva (Dallas Mavericks) Autographed Basketball, Galveston Weekend Package, Casino Trip Package, Marilyn Monroe 3 Litre Wine Bottle Basket, Port Lavaca Old Haunted Jail Trip and numerous gift baskets and items in our live and silent auctions, and all the proceeds will benefit the Friends of the Art Park Players scholarship/internship fund.”
For the ticket price of $30, attendees will enjoy a feast of heavy hors d’oeuvres and decadent desserts, with the show beginning promptly at 7 p.m. The doors will open at 6:30.
Fashions featured in the show will be provided by Adelaide’s Boutique and Casanova’s.
“The support we are able to raise during this event means so much to the recipients – last year, we were able to provide $12,000 in scholarships and internships,” Mele said. “Make sure to get your tickets today!”
“Puttin’ on the Ritz” will be held at the Municipal Court and Theater Building, located at 1302 Center Street in Deer Park.
